Quick question for those who know. What exactly does it mean when someone says, it is a commercial piece of magic? Is it magic that can be performed in an act or on stage? Not sure if I quite get the meaning.

Usually they are referring to the fact that they use it for laymen.

For some it means "marketable" or as having profit as a chief aim. For myself, it means it is entertaining to an audience (lay or experienced)...
As an example, the "rabbits" are a commercial piece of magic. My two cents. John |

For me, it's whatever works in the "real world."

"Commercial" means it gets a great reaction from laymen even though it wouldn't fool magicians.
