Hello All-
A friend of mine was trying to describe to me an illusion/table/base called MMS 1 and MMS 2. I have asked around and no one seems to recall what this is or where I could see it being used. Anyone out there have any idea what this is? Thanks! |

Devereaux,
Your friend is speaking of the "Multiple Magic System" brought out by Ken Whitaker of Creative Illusions designed by him and Paul Haynes. The MMS (patent pending) was offered in three different series, each one featuring ten or more different sensational illusions. Basicly it's a unique system of componets that permits to change their repertoir of stage illusions all with a single ultra thin table. In other words, you could interchange each of the illusions in its serie with only one table. If I'm right, it's not existing anymore neither sold anymore. Hope that helps. Oliver. |

Yes!- that is the one! Thank you-- I don't suppose there is record of it being used on video?
Again- thank you for helping to solve that little mystery. |

I don't think so, at least I've never seen one. I own the catalog from Ken Whitaker at those times so if you want I could tell you which illusions are in which serie, but that's all, since there aren't shown any photos but just drawings.

Thanks, Oliver- that would be great- I would love to see sketches or anything that would give me an idea of what illusions were possible.

Genii also had double page ads listing the effects and with some photos (if a subscriber you have access to their data base of back issues). They also issued a video on some of their effects (mainly the visible sawing).
If you watch Magic Auction there are often effects identified as Creative Illusions manufacture. As a side note, awhile back on E-bay there was a mass of material (contracts, designs etc) which was from a storage locker of Creative Illusions, the asking price was high, but it ended up selling low (from what I understand). There were several filing cabinets full. I've wondered what has happened to this material, mainly the designs. B
