Joe and I go back many years. I have photos of when he did his smooth dove, silk and flower act. We shared many memorable moments.
Prayer to Sue and the family. Rest in peace Joe. Richard

Joe had a wonderful memorial service on October 13th. Several local Santas were in attendance as were IBM past international presidents Mike Gorman, Joan Caesar and Phil Willmarth. Joan flew in from Canada and Magician John Reed and his lovely wife drove 14 hours from Long Island, NY to attend. Magicians Gail and John Bobik drove in from Philadelphia.
The altar was decorated with a dark coat rack filled with the costumes worn by Joe's various characters. Joe's ashes rested in a beautiful wooden chest atop a Lefler Table with a single lit candle. Among the many beautiful flowers and plants were a gorgeous magic-themed floral sent by Doc Magic (John McClanahan) and a perfect live miniature evergreen Christmas tree potted in a glitter top hat delivered by Magician Jeff Jones. IBM and KIDabra member Pastor Terry Whittenton was marvelous as he led the service with music provided by his lovely wife. North Carolina TVP Skip Way, KIDabra Founder Mark Daniel and IBM Order of Merlin Shield Eddy Wade performed the Broken Wand ceremony. The wand was crossed and placed on the table in front of Joe's chest. Santa Al Capehart presented the Santa Oath in tribute to Joe. Skip Way presented the eulogy filled with the hilarious and touching stories Joe loved to share followed by Terry with his many remembrances of Joe. Terry read Facebook messages and emails from his many friends from around the world. A U.S.A.F. Honor Guard from Seymour Johnson AFB presented Sue Lefler with a ceremonial American Flag and played taps in honor of Joe's Viet Nam service. Following the service, everyone met at a local restaurant for lunch, fellowship and all the wonderful Joe stories we could muster. Joe would have been pleased with the love and laughter that was shared in his honor. Rest easy, dear friend. You are missed.
