Hello to everyone from venting family!
Im like new to Ventriloquism, but not new to Human Beatbox. It's like, with music, back in the days, when I started with "Kana³ Audytywny" band, as the first one to join in Poland - beatbox + live band + rap, it worked out, now its time to join - beatbox + ventriloquism. This idea came up to me in march this year. Zgas - Bêbny Z Gêby (Feat. Skorup) - Hybydysz EP - OFFICIAL VIDEO HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f9Bilt--eY Zgas & Zgasik - HiRes by Bartosz Maz: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=......8&type=3 Plans: Zgas & Zgasik - Learn How To Betbox DVD Zgas & Zgasik - 2 Full stage shows (one for children, one for everybody, no name yet) Im very interested, in your thoughts as Proffesionals, in which direction or directions I can take these artfoms combined together? |

Hi Zgas,
all the best...count me out...for me, beatbox sux...too noisy, too stilted, no love:just noise. No melody just a racket... What is your puppet/'dummy' gonna think of you? If it were me I'd run away from you or set fire to your hair...Think of the relationship you want with whatever is on your hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

James you hit it right on the head. That is her new nickname. She comes along and in 2 separate threads acts like this. Wow really shows what kind of person this is..

Actually, back when this thread was first posted and I looked at the links, I almost posted, "what the hey was that?"
But we know we can't, madelaine should learn some restraint. I noticed madelaine has 60-some posts and we've never seen them here before, I wonder if they've been posting like this all over the Café.

Well I think anything that's new to ventriloquism which brings it into the present era can' t be all that bad. I'll admit beatbox isn't for me, but hey it's a skill and if the OP wants to apply it to ventriloquism then go for it. Get a video and show us too I'd like to see it.

I already do a beatbox routine with my puppet. I have been told many times that I am rather good at beatboxing, and last year I thought it would be cool to have my puppet beatbox. Sure my mouth moves a bit, but my animation of the puppet keeps the children watching the puppet. I'd post a video of my routine, but that would be silly and foolish of me since it took nearly a year to work it out.
I am very protective of my own original material. I don't create my own routines to sell, but to make me as original as I can be. If I posted a video, I take the chance of it not being original to me anymore.
Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.

It will be original to you, and as you suggested copied by others.
I work with teens and this would work with that and other age groups. Knowing your target audience is important. An example outside of vent, playing Jimmy Hendrix style Star Spangled Banner on my electric ukulele(which also does talk) goes over well with folks around my age(50-70) but has gotten the HUH??? look when I have tried it at other venues. For you harmonica vents, think about playing harmonica, while your puppet beatboxes. I have.
