I would like to produce a cage with a fake dove, but would like to have it as real looking as possible.
What would everyone recommend? Nielsen seems to be the standard. I saw some people say Owen doves are the very best, but I couldn't find any for sale. Any advice would be great |

No doubt, I second David : Get the one produced by Norm Nielsen.
Every pro who uses a fake dove, uses this one. It's the best and the most real looking that you'll find on the market today. Oliver. |

Nielson is the most realistic I have seen. However, as Dave stated, latex doves can only do so much.

You can modify a Nielsen latex dove with some white wing-shaped vinyl/leather inserts by slitting each side of the dove to accept the wings. You can then produce a flapping dove with some help from your hands, from a paper bag, or anything else for that matter, in a wonderful wing-flapping illusion.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Yes, you can always modify the Nielsen Dove, but you can also add feather fluffs inside the tummy hole (so if you squish there is an element of surprise) and animate the dove with your thumb. Think of a spring skunk...
