I remember a triumph effect where aces are shuffled into the deack, the deck is shuffled face up/down, and the cards are dealt as for poker, the magician gets the aces face up, all the rest face down. Anyone remember where I saw this?
1. I am not asking about any other triumph style effect, nor where its published or who invented it. Please don't waste both our time by aswering questions no one asked. 2. If you don't know, please don't answer. |

John,
The effect that you're referring to is commonly called "Alaskan Poker" and it was created by Persi Diaconis. Ricky Jay did it on his "Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women" special many years ago. It is not in print (by its originator at least) as far as I know. Jason

See also Paul Cummins' "Punken Droker." I know it's in one of the TSD Freebies. It may have also been in Magic.

Could be in one of the Talk About Tricks DVD as well, since Cummin's Punken Droker appears there.

Another version appears in Racherbaumer's Arch Triumphs on page 35.
It is called Tipsy Triumph. Jim
