I have J.B. Bobo's Modern Coin Magic book, and recently discovered that a dvd set was made at some point to accompany the book. Does anyone have this? Is it worth the $30? I do not want to keep buying new materials to learn from unless it is really necessary, but I am a visual learner, so if this DVD set is worth the buy I will absolutely purchase it.
Thanks! Acoustical |

There are 3 or 4 versions out there - I prefer the one by Magic Makers ( 4 dvd set ) very well done and well worth the money http://www.thecuckoosnest.com/zencart/ze......_id=4515

Get the Ammar set that coincides with Bo Bo you will be glad that you did. Do not take the M.M route. You will eventually wish that you hadn't.

Not sure how The Modern Coin Magic DVDs could make you "wish you hadn't" as to getting them??? It's a wonderfully in-depth set with great teaching of sleights, effects and routines along the lines of how they are laid out in the famous book by J.B. Bobo. Plus it is at a great price for a big 4 DVD set that covers tons of coin magic, and if you check with Ben Salinas here on the Café, you can probably get it even cheaper. Ammar's DVD is a good one but this set is very well done as well and I'm speaking as one of many that have them both.

For thirty bucks, yes, its absolutely worth it. Bobo's is THE foundational reference, but I've seen some folks who gloss over it because the writing or the illustrations seem "dated." Seeing the sleights and routines done in real time might just be a very pleasant awakening for a lot of people. Seeing the bedrock that Roth, Neighbors, Ponta, etc etc built their castles on - yes, definitely worth it.

The set featuring Ben Salinas is well worth it. $30 isn't a lot when you consider it's a multi-DVD set.

This DVD is a great set of DVD's.
Now here we go again with ol' mr negative RS1963, don't listen to his whining. @ $27.00 on Amazon for a new copy, you won't be dissatisfied with this purchase. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B......tIndex=0 Ben Salinas's work on Bobo's MCM is a great and wonderful reference that goes hand and hand with Bobo's book. and there is only one version of Ben Salinas's MCM, not 3 or 4 as Poof stated in his post. Ben has 3 good DVD's that I know of on coin work. $27.00 is nothing compared to what one invests in Magic. Have Fun |

I also own the set with Ben Salinas, and I must say it is one of the best values for a magic DVD set that I know of. There is just so much good information and I think it is a great companion to the book.
