So you're going through your routine making things appear and disappear, and suddenly some guy in the audience tries to throw you off your game a bit by pointing to his wife and says, "Can you make her disappear?" These sort of moments clearly require a quick, stinging but simultaneously funny verbal response that will sort of put the individual in their place. What do you guys do when something like this happens to you, when someone in the audience calls you out or tries to heckle you?

There is no set answer. Each case is unique and requires different handling. It depends on the venue, the personality of the performer, the temper of the audience and the intent of the heckler. It's a seat of the pants type of situation that you eventually learn how to handle. Or not.

Ignore them, works all the time, no matter how hard they try, in fact it irritates them big.
That's the laugh, why go to their level and be rude? |
