Since no one has reviewed this yet, I will.
Mine came in today. The post office really did a number on the box, but the bowling pin was fine. Only few negatives, and they are small. 1) If you hold it up to a very strong light there is a very remote chance of exposing it as a fake. Very remote. 2) You need to be careful handling it or people may see you "crush it" a little. Taking your time and there should be no problem. 3) It does not become completely inflated instantly. As it comes, it inflates fully from a fully compressed, rolled up position in 1.6 seconds. I enlarged the hole in the bottom with an X-Acto knife and it inflated in less than a second. (The instructions recommend this for a faster inflate.) 4) As is, when it inflates, there is a bit of a "whistling wind" sound. When I enlarged the hole so it would inflate faster, it also eliminated the whistle. (Yay!) Positives 1) THIS LOOKS REAL - EVEN UP CLOSE! I I posted a picture of this with a real bowling pin, you would not be able to tell which one was fake. 2) It crushes very small. Small enough to stuff into some loose fitting jeans if you care to be vulgar . . . While I am not tossing out my Neilsen Vanishing Coke bottle, I see this to be comparable to the Neilsen line of vanishing bottles, only it is a bowling pin (full size). If you have any questions on quality, don't worry. I see this as a great addition to the bowling ball sketch pad or bowling ball briefcase. It can also make a great load for a square circle or anything like that. It is also a winner for being a disappearing bowling pin. I have Michael Mode's Bowling Ball Pin, and this can work together, with Michael's pin being the convincer. I give this a 9 out of 10 . . . maybe 9.5! |
