Sorry I’ve been so silent on the Café, but production, performance, and marketing have been a little overwhelming.
A one-person theatre and show are a dream come true as well as a 60 hour week nightmare <grin.> Not complaining it’s great fun! Next week marks our 6th week of shows! I’d like the show to run until I’m 87 years old. Thought I’ve give an update… the show and parlor are evolving and developing each week. Yep, there is spooky/bizarre magick, but also just fun things. Lots of storytelling and theatrical magic If you want to know what’s going on my blog/FB/site links are below. If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area and you’ve not seen the show shoot me an email, if we’re not packed I can arrange a pair of 1/2 price seats for magic colleagues. What some of my guests said on their comment cards: “Mind blowing a must see!! Keep Walt in San Francisco!!” “This was an incredible experience and the SF stories were wonderful!! A must do for any native San Francisco.” “Mind blowing a must see!! Keep Walt in San Francisco!!” “Such an amazing, intriguing, and exciting show. Great entertainment.” Want to open your own venue? Let me know and I’ll try to give you the scoop from the inside out. Magically, Walt http://www.Facebook.com/SanFranciscoMagicParlor http://www.magicparlor.blogspot.com/ http://www.SanFranciscoMagicParlor.com |

Good luck on this venture. I was in San Fran about 4 weeks ago, but I only had Sunday, Monday and Tues. nights available for sightseeing and pleasure, all nights that you are dark. But I will certainly try to make a performance if I'm ever there on a night that you have a curtain.

Well, after seeing the show last night with Donna and two out-of-town friends, all I can say is... GO SEE IT!
Everything came together: the ambiance at the hotel, the intimacy (it's a tiny room), the stories, the flow, Walt's personality, the audience response, the props. It was totally enjoyable. I spent a fair amount of time watching our friends's reactions, and they were totally into it. And yes I did get a few "how did he do it" comments afterwards, but mostly the talk was about Walt, and the show itself, and the characters mentioned, not the individual effects... which told me he went beyond "lookit what I can do" and created an entertainment experience. Congratulations, Walt!
