It looks similar to Ed Marlo's "Female", where the back of a chosen card is the only card with a woman's name on it. All the other cards have men's names. But the real kicker in "Female" is that the card chosen has the spectator's name written on it.
Looks like the methodology is the same as well. Hope that helps. - Bob |

Thank you very much for answer. It's really helpful. I didn't know "Female" but sounds really great and I think it must be indeed the same or very similar method behind this two effects.

You know if that dealer was doing other card trick, he could have been busted right away with the mistake he did at the shuffling of the cards. still, great trick! I thought you we're really after the history of the card trick with all the inventors of it and such.

Well, if it's only possible to find out in detail what was the first illusionist who did similar effect, full history of it and so on, I will be more than happy:)
