Some people have to play around with playing cards all day long. Some people envy birds. It's all good. That said, I would hate to be on vacation and watch some dude splatter himself on the sidewalk in front of me because he wanted to be a bird. That said, there was a thread here a while back about some dude who splattered himself on a bridge in front of a fellow Café member because he wanted to kill himself. There is a difference between walking the line between life and death and simply choosing death. Choosing life is cool. |

I remember this event when I was younger, came back to mind when the grandson tightroped the canyon.
I won't post a link, just that it's Karl Wallenda last walk on youtube (WARNING, gravity wins) |

I wouldn't do that on a bet. If I'm gonna die from doing something dangerous, it's gonna be eating red meat.

Looks like the link flew straight to the ground.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

I would LOVE to do wingsuit flying/falling. I researched it briefly before learning I was to heavy to even skydive.
And it's not all fat either. I'm 6' and I've lifted a few weights besides cheeseburgers in my time. My uncle died skydiving and I spent much of my childhood afraid of heights- unrelated. But I made a conscious effort to overcome my fear and have done a pretty good job. I actually like the idea of the wingsuit more than regular skydiving. But, it is what it is... off limits for me. Rope Jumping is another crazy "sport"... endeavor, what have you, that in no way interests me. I'm surprised it is still allowed and is becoming more popular considering Dan Osman died doing it as the pioneer of the activity. You basically fling yourself off a cliff and allow only ropes to stop your descent. While we're on the subject and I'm rambling as usual... para gliding looks beautiful too. Austrian valley... soaring like a bird.
Performing magic unprofessionally since 2008!

After the initial WOW!, three things came to mind -
1. The architecture and skyline of Dubai is incredible. 2. If they ever figure out how to take off and land, without helicopters and parachutes, it could become a mode of transportation. 3. It will probably end up being used by some military, sooner rather than later.
If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.

On Saturday, "Dean Potter, 43, died during a wingsuit flight from Yosemite National Park's Taft Point."
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/......yosemite http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2......yosemite https://youtu.be/VDwzYkfweMM https://youtu.be/DuTrujUR1bA https://youtu.be/zXdrvLeXyE4 Apparently about 50 have died wingsuiting over the last 18 months. (I'll stop here for one of you to make the obligatory observation that more have died eating spaghetti or something like that during the same time period.)
Make America Great Again! - Trump in 2020 ... "We're a capitalistic society. I go into business, I don't make it, I go bankrupt. They're not going to bail me out. I've been on welfare and food stamps. Did anyone help me? No." - Craig T. Nelson, actor.

Well, that would be an obligatory insistence on the part of some.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

I already did this. Of course it was at Soarin’ at Epcot. My favorite ride. But then I am kind of old.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000
