Slippery sam is actually a pivoting coin by Steve Dusheck. But a half rimmed shell is commonly referred to as a slippery sam. it is way different than an expanded shell in that the surrounding edge only goes half way around and when lined with teflon or mouse tape slides silently to make 1 become 2 or 2 become 1. If it is made right as part of a set, it will even "lock" on the other coins of the set. Just buying the gaff may work with the coins you have but probably not as well as a tooled set. I have never seen a TUC but from what I understand it is a magnetic type split coin that you can slide back and forth just as easy. I would imagine both the TUC (special order only from Mr Tango directly) and a set with a locking "slippery sam" Lassen, Schoolcraft, Kueppers, Joe Mogar (who sells a magical morgan set and a slippert sam fairly inexpensivly) or try Mark Mason... will cost close to the same.

http://www.joemogar.com/ click coin magic on left... check magical morgans $10 ea scrool way down to slippery shells - the magical morgan slippery shell is $85 - that is $125.00 for a full set. Call Joe and ask if it locks on to the coins. even if it doesn't that is way cheaper than what you are looking at.

Ha magic8161
get yourself a tuc.you will love it. if you want to go from one coin to two coins and be able to toss it around in your hands. then a tuc is a good choice.and you can do one awesome coins across with it.start off with a clad one.and then work your way up to a morgen one. |
