Hi guys,
Now I know this is about volume 4 Trost, but I had a question related to another Trost trick. The trick is "double pinochle with elevator finish" I love the trick, and was just wondering if anyone uses this trick with a regular deck of cards and not the pinochle deck. If so I was curious as to what patter could be used. Any info on this would be great, as I have been trying to come up with patter for the trick but am having a hard time fitting it into a regular deck trick. Thanks! James |

I have the The Card Magic of Nick Trost open in front of me and it says, as well as the method description, that this was made to be performed with a regular deck. As far as patter goes I generally don't do the trick unless I've done something related to gambling or otherwise before it. Harry Lorayne's Monte routine is my favorite lead in because I don't know anything about pinochle so I say something like, "Turns out that spectator was me. Thinking I still had a chance, I figured I'd try my luck at pinochle with him, because obviously a game I know nothing about will definitely turn out all right." Something offbeat and humorous like that.
