Pkoin is the best coin bending effect there is. The coin can be signed before the bending begins. Luckily it is out of print.
I have combined it in the past with a Derren Brown's idea and Yaniv's Stubborn Coin effect. |

Zod or anyone else, what is this Pkoin that keeps being mentioned? Whose is it, where was it published, what makes it good, etc?
Also, has anyone used Walter Noon's bending quarter, as advertised? here? Any views on it? Quinn
Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

***** Hold off on the PMs! Paolo didn't tell me enough that I really understand it or think that I could pull it off myself! *****
and Paolo, You sure know how to whip up a frenzy in the manuscript market! And yeah, I'd want to see your coin routine in print, too! (And what's this new "10th Peek Move"? I swear you must have been holding back years of material! You'll have three nice books out before I'm even done with my measly addendum!)

Adolphus, it is not a secret that I like your thinking and your wit! So, I will wait impatiently for what you called your "measly addendum" (and knowing you, I know it will be a good addendum!) Can I also say that there is more coming out from you in the near future? Oops! Too late! Paolo

Paolo, when you do you think you'll release this gem?

Eric, I really don't know. The original Pkoin is not mine to give. My handling of Pkoin is different from the original, but still I need permission to publish it. (Of course, I could just write it up but I always prefer to have permission if it's possible!)
My idea is to add this routine as a bonus effect in my next book instead of selling it as a separate thing. Of course, as soon as I will get permission and I will write up the routine, I will send it to some people I trust, and then I will accept their suggestions as to how it's better to release it (or if it's not good enough to be released!). Also, in case I will decide not to release it the people who bought UPSILON will get it as a .pdf for free as a thank you for their trust in my first book. Paolo

Why bend a coin when you can totally destroy it? I live near a tourist place that has a penny smasher in the game room. If you've not seen one, it works like this: you put in a penny and two quarters and turn a huge crank, the penny gets smashed and stretched by the rollers and spit out, leaving one with a smashed cent as a memento (the machines I've seen have the option of having the smashed penny imprinted with some crappy memorial stamp). The same result can be done with the help of a train, although that is illegal so don't do it. I think these smashed coins are more 'impossibly' magicial than a bent coin, especially when used with the Xpert.

"I ask if someone has a pocketful of change. When they pull out their coins and hold them up for me I simply reach into the pile, pull out a pre-bent dime (two reasons: a) not as much variance in the finish of the coin, and b) it's worth more---no one cares about pennies), and place it into the hand of the person who will "bend" it. No worries about switches, no worries about it being "my" dime, and no memories of me handling the coin.
It's direct, to the point, and makes the participants wet their pants. Why would I need to have a coin signed? Has anyone ever had someone say, "I need to sign the coin to prove it is the same one at the end of the trick?" Not unless you suggest it to them first. Opinionated, Lee" This sounds like a winner Lee!

Blitzen,
Becuase you also have a scene on the face of the penny with those smashers. They know that is a switch. YOu only need a slight bent for the effect to be astonishing. Please don't do you method around Dallas. Thanks Andy |
