I noticed that the older I get, the harder it is to palm objects. I use to have no problem ever palming things. Now I find it difficult. Is it age? Is there anything that can be applied to the hands to make it more tackier?

Gary Ouellet and The Camirand Academy of Magic sell a product called "Elite Magician's Hand Lotion" which I've used occasionally. I bought it at Denny and Lee Magic.
http://www.camirandmagic.com/ac_037.html
The product description reads:
-----quote-----
Do you have problems with cards slipping? Classic-palmed coins popping free prematurely? This specially-prepared solution will combat these and related problems by adding just the right amount of cling without making your hands sticky (unlike most commercial hand creams and lotions).
-----unquote

You can also check at your drugstore for rosewater and glycerine, which I have found to be effective.

This topic was discussed on the Café a couple of years ago:

Denny and Lee Magic carries the Oulett/Camirand product

and also lists a product called "Magician's Choice (Emerald Formula)"

With my aging hands crippled by arthritis I changed to using the PalmerClip and FingerPalm/Ramsey for everything.

No "fluid" or "goop" required

Now I can do effects never before possible. eBook available from gusarimagic@comcast.net

John Calvert swears by this.

I've tried it and it does have a good effect, although I have more changed techniques, and in the case of billiard balls, from wood to Fakini. I perform much less close-up these days than I used to, so a lot of the hand finesse is not so much an issue.

I think in general, everyone's hands are biologically varied, so the "fix" is surely going to vary by person. You should just experiment with different things until you find what works for you. But expect even that to change as you do.

At 59, I find my hands in better shape magically than ever.

Looking at them, they appear much older than my face, and do not match the image in my brain.

For a while, I used glycerin, or sort quick.

These days I don't use anything, except Am-Lactin at night. That is for the dry cracking on the top not palm side of the hand.

I started doing manipulation(mostly with coins) back in the 70's.

Back then quarters worked with my small hands. These days I can use USA dimes to Morgans.

I hope the hands, mind and body are still going strong in 20 years.

Been spending more time in a cycle class than with a bicycle deck these days.

You can also try the past bank tellers use while counting money. Get a any office supply store. The nice thing about this is that it comes in small round containers. Thus you can velcro it to your clothing behind your coat lapel, or have it on your table as you pick up some cards or balls, and just pass your thumb of fingers over it.

Palm Grip is another product golfers use, get it a Walmart and any golf pro shop.
