Hi guys,
I did a search and could not find anything on this subject, if there is a post already let me know, and sorry for the repeat. I do magic in resturants and private parties. I also twist balloons. I want to get some liability insurance...just in case. I could see some kid choke on a balloon and his parents getting my house car and everything else I own, even though I tell them to make sure to keep them out of the kid's mouth. I talked to State Farm and they could not even send me in the right direction. They suggested I talk to my "magic friends". So magic friends, where do you get it, how much should I have and what does it cost. Thanks in advance, Keith Here is to not getting sued!

OPen up a Linking Ring magazine and get the insurance through the group provider they use. The price is based upon gross annual receipts. It is very affordable and they are usually very quick to add a name as a rider and get it faxed out. Hope that helps.

You know, I have the insurance through IBM, and I'm happy with it. But it looks like the Clowns of the US liability policy is a bit broader (i.e. it doesn't exclude hypnosis while the IBM policy does) and very competitively priced.
Hmmmmm, I'll have to give this some thought. Joe L.

Joe L.,
I would check with the people at Clowns of the US about the hypnosis exclusion. I suspect they still have an exclusion for it despite not listing it on their application.I have friends who do hypnosis and they say that you can't get coverage for that anywhere. Michael |

Hey Magicmikey:
So do your friends who do hypnosis just perform without insurance. I'm just posting this for clarification, your friends may want to check this out. I learned about this cover through my training research. Clowns of America Most certainly DOES COVER HYPNOSIS, I have personally inquired as I wanted to know if I needed a seperate policy for Magic and another for the Hypnosis Shows. They informed me back by email that it would only require the one policy for both. When I return home I will edit the return email into this posting. Heres the email: Hi Martin, Our policy will cover you for both magic and hypnotist. I am going to direct you to our website for all the insurance information and for our application. Address: www.clownsoftheus.com You can also print out certificate request forms as you need them or you can fill these in and email them back to me! Comes in handy when all those schools want to hire you to entertain on Grad Night or for any other venues that may require an additional insured! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you! Stephanie
