Kinda surprised there isn't a thread on this. I know Dave has a lot of fans.
Anyway, this is his latest download and it's pretty freakin' awesome. What he's done is taken my trick, 18, thrown it on the grill, turned up the gas, smothered it in BBQ sauce, and sprinkled on some special spices and served up a sizzling, mouth-watering slab of awesome magic. I'm kicking myself that I didn't come up with this variation. It's amazing. Watch the demo. I created 18 and this thing fooled ME! http://www.full52.com/butterfly.htm His variation is diabolical and also has a better reset than mine. Plus, he's included an impromptu version called Clipped Wings which can be done with a borrowed, shuffled deck. This is a great download. Clear video instruction as always. Super easy to do and instant reset. What more could you ask for?

I was looking at this, last weekend...
I've gotten back into cartomancy recently, and thought this would be a nice, fun, entertainment style segue into some fortune-telling... was tempted...still am...
I've asked to be banned

I like the impromptu version much better. Simply because I don't like having to carry around a deck of cards for one specific effect. That said, both effects/versions are very strong.

Magic Maddy, I hear you. If I know I'll be performing, I carry two decks: one normal, one special. The nice thing about Butterfly Effect, like 18, is that there is no need for a covert deck switch. You can pull out the other deck openly, saying that you made a prediction in the deck earlier.
But, the impromptu version is very strong and is almost the exact same effect with a few trade offs. Either way, I love what Dave has done here.

I've performed The Butterfly Effect" a few times already and it gets killer reactions! I have both his and Cameron's version made up, so which one I perform tends to change from day to day because I think they're both pretty awesome

Dave added nice subtleties to Cameron's routine that make it look so fair! I don't know what to say more, what you see is what you get.

It's so darn fair with the cards being shown face up ( I was sure he was going to perform it counting the cards face down ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Z_i9aAOZ3rQ#!
