No, he was a guest. It was quite surprising to even see him there since he just played a play-off game at Staple Center that same night. Miguel Rangel

I heard he was holding Jumbo cards and it looked like he was holding a poker sized deck.
But I could be wrong...my source wasn't reliable. And I was tipsy. And riding on the back of a motorcycle. While reading a book.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

He performs demonstrations of pschology that involve the use of sleight of hand, and he tells people what he is doing is not impossible, but can actually belearned through practice, where as magicians perform feats of the impossible that are unperformable by lay audiences. Uri is quite pecific in telling people he does not do magic. And in doing so many believe what he is doing, is actually possible. And while we magicians and many others know the same effects using magic, the fact that this is not presented as magic, makes it very diiferent. NicK(HOPING THAT MADE SENSE) |

I know this is old; however, I had to add to it!

Since there is 100 years ago this year that he died, I want to mention that Henrik Ibsen did magic in his youth.

Jon Dorenbos, the NFL player, was taught by my mentor Ken Sands. Not only that, but Ken became like a father to him. I spoke to him once over the phone at Ken's store in the Westminster Lanes.

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Two weeks ago I saw Steve Martin do some very impressive double lifts at the after the show get together of Monday Night Magic in New York. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday, and what an after the show surprise Stave was, unfortunetly I left my camera in my hotel room.

Ditto on what Al wrote.
The Opera House on Disneyland's Main Street has a nice retrospective film featuring the early years of the Park, which is hosted by Steve Martin. Steve talks about having worked in the Magic Shop as a kid, and launches into a VERY impressive set of back palms and related sleights with cards. The guy's got some enviable chops, IMO. |
