Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone bought Exact Change by Gregory Wilson? Are you getting good reactions? Was it worth the $75? |

I love Exact Change. It's worth it to me, and I get great reactions with it. The DVD is well taught. He teaches around 30 different ways/routines you can use with this gimmick.

I do not think it is worth $75. Let me explain though because I love everything Greg puts out. There are literally TONS of great routines on the dvd (as with every dvd he does, he gets on a roll and gives you everything he can think of and then some) You will never be short changed (pun) by his teaching. My issue is... you will eventually pick the ONE maybe TWO presentations you will ever use and add that to a gimmick that costs about $5 + shipping and I don't see the $75 value here. Others will disagree and that is quite ok with me, this is just MY opinion on this one effect.
Strangely enough, I think Bandwith is severely underpriced even though there is only one effect (if you use the 3 phases) but the freaking gimmicks are so well made and super quality that they have to account for 90% of the retail cost. He must be giving the routine away here. seriously, I would have not been disappointed at all to have paid $75 for Bandwidth and got what I got where "I" feel exact change is more in the line of $30 effects. If you can find it used at a discount, don't hesitate to pick it up. As I said, GREAT EFFECT just overpriced. I will repeat myself once more to make it clear - This is my opinion only and I really like (and own most of) everything Greg puts out.

I love the idea of Exact Change for an impromptu looking effect with no apparent props.
But I try as I may, I could never get comfortable with it. Some people have absolutely no problem with it. I found it difficult to converse and calculate AND do the dirty work quickly and quietly. I'm sure with enough work on it I could have gotten it down but I ended up deciding to spend the time on other things. None of it is very difficult but I admit that I had a hard time getting it to a level that I was happy with. It didn't come easy for me and I've had conversations with others who felt the same way. It may have to do with how people's brains work differently. |

I have an effect called "Sudden Change" that I developed before ever hearing of "Exact Change." It requires some set up, but no expensive prop.
I works on a different premise and uses a sneaky psychological ploy -- and some sleight are involved. Not trying to compete as I don't sell it -- but will gift it to anyone who can send me a good story as to why they might use it to gusarimagic@comcast.net A commitment to feedback required, of course. The key is that if you like this kind of effect I might be able to inspire some thinking and creativity on your part.
