I'm looking for a nice silk for the Expansion of Texture effect.
I want it to be a man's handkerchief or maybe even a nice cloth table napkin could do. What can you suggest from the above? Thanks |

Go to a nice men's store and fine a medium weight linen handkerchief. Don't buy a "pocket squeare" as they will be a bit small. Perhaps a little color like a pale blue or white with a bit of a edge color pattern.
Silk foulard is the fabric most often used for silk handkerchiefs, and luckily, they are quite popular now...so buy several while the selection is good! Regards- J.Neal

I have also found in a thrift store, some very nice polyester ladies "scarves" They come in various solid colors, are about 20" square, and have the "right" texture and "feel". for Expansion of Texture. I'm fussy about that--I've been doing the ET since 1951!
These "polys" are also great for the vanishing square knot. (Nowadays called the Slydini Silks) A pair of these will last for a whole season on the road. (350 + shows)
