I have bought 6cm (60mm) rubber balls to use as a final load, but the sisti cups I have take the load, but it sticks out a few mm's.
on the site it says it can take them, but apparantly not... |

If you use a soft close up mat the cup may sit flush.

Thanks for the tip, Tom, but I set them down on my close up mat and they still wobble.

It may also depend on the cups, are they original Sist's or RNT2 re-issues?

Cirrus... limes and Ammar Fab fruit fit really well for final loads.
Good luck, Bruce |

He has new Antique Bronze Sisti Cups.
They have a 60mm maximum capacity. I believe we concluded via PM that the balls he was using were actually slightly larger than 60mm. |

You don't really NEED to use the MAX load which COMPLETELY fills the whole cup. As mentioned above, the fab fruit works great.

Cirrus--I would not bother with the rubber final load balls. Give them to your pet and stay with fruit as your final loads. The Ammar Fab Fruit looks very realistic and are great to practice with if you're not comfortable performing with fake fruit. The late great Bob Read mentioned that you get at least 50% more response from your audience when utilizing an incongruent final load such as fruit or vegetables.
In The Book of Secrets, John Carney writes: I eschew the use of sponge balls, as their obvious collapsible nature might detract frm the effectiveness of the various effects. For the same reason, I prefer to use real fruit for the loads. Fruit may necessitate a trip to the market and a careful selection for fit, but the small inconvenience is offset by the immediate recognition of innocence apparent in real fruit. There is also an appealing absurdity in the unexpected appearance of these incongruous objects...Using large balls for final loads have the disadvantage of being regarded as props that collapse. This impression may not be dispelled without closer inspection, which is not always practical. |
