Euan M. Bingham http://www.magicden.co.uk I was excited when asked to do a review of this e-book, just so I could see what the cunning-young-scot had up his sleeve this time. Euans work is a site to behold. Everything about his style of writing, presentation and routining screams simplicity. These are useable real world effects that will do your practice time with them justice. The title is very appropriate, and it is indeed a great follow on to No Pretensions. We as cardicians find a lot of cluttered, un commercial movey magic. Continental Drift is a perfect example of clarity and directness. A killer effect that uses solid method. It provides for an excellent follow up to Out Of This World. As a magician, I always felt the need for a full stop for the Curry effect, it ends about the spectator and about the cards, using this effect to finish will provide a lasting impression of you, Another piece that shone out was Euans Ambitious Card Move. This is a great extension of the Ellis idea and provides for a convincing ambitious card section. A plot that has been over used, comprises multiple and spooner moves again becomes clear. A card is out-jogged, left out jogged, placed in the deck and rises to the top. It is beyond convincing. A great read, innovative and well-credited as ever and a true testament to the direct approach. Well done sir! |
