Hi,
I am a new owner of a ballon to rabbit box and am trying to come up with an routine for it and was wondering If I could run past you what I was thinking?............... I can? Thank you very much, here goes. I announce that I will turn a helper into a rabbit, after much by play including putting pretend bunny ears on the helper and claiming success I blow up a ballon and draw (badly) a picture of the helper on it with bunny ears and nose with a sharpie and put him in the rabbit box. I claim success again and after being heckled and booed by the kids I lift the lid to reveal the real rabbit. I'm sure this has been done before however if anyone has any ideas or sources they could refer me to I would be most grateful. I'm also considering not using a real bunny for several reasons although the main reason is I don't have one. (I would put a smiley face there but can't work out how to) I thinking maybe using a toy bunny but would love to hear any ideas you guys have. Thanks in advance Adrian |

Thanks for asking. I had no clue till I started wondering just now. A stuffed Rabbit might be good if the child we're young enough to receive a Stuffed Rabbit as a gift or... If it were a puppet and you did some by play after the production or (Binky, what are you doing here? You were supposed to be a real rabbit! etc...) or You produce a stuffed Tiger (There are some very nice ones out there now) and you react in surprise and shock (hopefully to laughter ) and say you'll have to work on that one. You also have the option of giving the stuffed Tiger away and a stuffed Tiger will go over to slightly older kids but I have no idea about the ages involved. -Mary Mowder |

Hi ma ry
Thank you for your reply, you were the first to welcome me to the Café and you're the first to reply here. Thank you. I like the idea of having a wrong stuffed animal and pretending to not notice and claiming success, it seems inkeeping with the rest of the routine. I was also considering getting a Rocky Racoon and making him appear before carrying on the routine with him. Thanks again for your help mary. |

Great link, too bad all the realistic Bunnies are made of BUNNIES.
I must admit I forgot that most Rockies are made of Bunnies or something else cute. I have a faux fur (Roxanne) Rocky . Check to see if the spring is too hard to work before buying. They are not quite as supple or soft but what would you say if a Kid asked "What is Rocky made of?" It wouldn't be so cute then. Yes I do eat meat and I like leather shoes so I know it is hypocritical but at least consider it before making the purchase. -Mary Mowder |
