I understand that the new pickpocketing DVD by James Freedman is out on sale. Any reviews out there? How does it compare to James Coats DVD?

I don´t have Freedman new DVD, but I have his old Video and it is rather good. His way of picking pockets is not really the real deal. It is quite hard to explain, but mainly he first has to take stuff out from peoples pockets in order to steal them away.
His methods work very well on stage, because the victim is the only one who doesn´t see the stuff being stolen, but everybody else can. Also his methods are very easy and don´t require years of practise. |

What's wrong with it as entertainment, mate ?
Let's face it - you're making a living (Assuming you're a professional) from misleading and deceiving people; how do you reconcile that with your beliefs vs using 'pickpocketing' as entertainment ? Jamie.

I don't decieve. I just do bits-o-business for my kid's show (titled Marcus The Nonsense Magician) like TroubleWitt and Run Rabbit Run
Stealing is wrong. Please stop them Jamie. |

I think we'd all agree that stealing is wrong. And pickpocketing is stealing, that is true.
But, pickpocketing for entertainment purposes is not stealing. Why? Beacuse you don't actually keep anything. Yes, you take someone's wallet, watch or whatever without their knowledge but you return it to them afterwards. So how is that stealing? Unless of course I am misunderstanding you totally and you're just joking. |

It is an excellent DVD. A must if you are interested in pick pocketing. Cover all aspects in detail, I highly recommend this DVD.
Note: Thanks to Carl Fraser for prompt delivery. Give it 5 - 5 |

I think it's ok to steal as entertainment if you give it back. But if you learn how to do it well, there's always the temptation to really steal something.

Wow. Normally for such subtle moral exploration you have to turn on the television to watch a professional sports team.
