It is a variation of what's commonly called "McDonald's Aces" after Jon W. "One-arm Mac" McDonald's "$100 Ace Trick" from the 1950's. Also spelled MacDonald’s Aces, this was invented by Leipzig or DeVega depending on who you believe. It was first published in "More Inner Secrets" by Ganson and Vernon in 1960.
Qua-Fiki has an interesting variation of his own that you can buy from him in e-Book instruction form if you are willing to do the work to make your own from jumbo cards (The Wizards' Journal #23). Qua-Fiki uses Dollar Store jumbo cards and so, for a couple of bucks, you can make a nice effect that lasts quite awhile, as long as you can make the presentation entertaining. Qua-Fiki also has a video of his effect, but performed using myself playing the part of four people from the audience, so you have to use your imagination to think of ways YOU would present it rather than follow his.

Thanks for the info!
I've seen many similar effects with normal size cards, but this got my attention because of those jumbo cards. I'm not a fan of jumbo or mini cards, but here is something that I can start with. |

I believe the assembly using DF's is traceable to J.N. Hofzinser's "The Power of Faith". Credit quibbles aside, Punx has a delightful presentation for a jumbo DF assembly in Once Upon A Time ("The Four Wishes"), translated by our own Bill Palmer.
There are many tricks, and many effects, but rarely a Grand Effect. There are many entertainers, but few real magicians. Many technicians, but few artists who use their art to explore their vision. - Derren Brown, Absolute Magic
