He cretainly knows how to play BIG and he's very dynamic. There is always movement. I like how when he produces or finishes an effect he pulls the girl UPWARD out of whatever illusion he's doing. Some card manips too, very nice.

Did anyone really catch what happened? I'll lay it out.
Starting at 0:18. The drawer on the table was opened and he unloaded it - visibly- placing lots of flowers aside. THEN The drawer was closed and an assistant sledded the compressed hat forward where it was opened. The table had BA flap that was raised THEN The productions from the hat took place until 0:31. - - - - - - - - - Had they merely brought out a hat, on a flat table, and started producing stuff, there could have only been one explanation involving the back of the hat. But. they tipped the hat forward, a second, and you could see a seam in the bottom. They weren't trying to show the bottom. They the were showing that the back of the hat was solid. - - - - - - - - - - The productions from the drawer, in the table, were all red-herrings meant to prove the drawer was now empty and therefore nothing else could be there (Or occupy the space later)! And they could advertise that no mirrors were used.... you just had to be all the way upstage, against the curtains.

These Films are part of the SAM Film library. John Gridina (sp) of Cleveland took them.

I like the part when the two girls are pulled up by a trapeze, these days health and safety would have them wearing a safety harness, hard hat and safety goggles !
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

This is actually my first post ever here at the Magic Café!
I live very close to Cleveland, so this video was a nice treat. Thanks for sharing! The only thing that could make it better is if it weren't so choppy, but for its age, it is completely understandable. I noticed that during the giant hat trick, when all the "magic" was happening, there was a lot of movement going on behind and around the table from the assistants. I suppose this was for misdirection, eh? |

I think it is important for magicians to gain a sense of history for the craft as it enriches one's appreciation for magic. My generation is lacking in the category of "Appreciation of History." Thanks for sharing.

Here's a heartbreaker for me.... at the end of this, he changes a chair to a case. I had this actual prop and when I moved it got lost!
