Michael Kaminskas was born in Fort Benning, Georgia while his father served as a Captain in the U.S. Army. Shorty thereafer, his family relocated to Lansdale, Pa a suburb just 20 minutes northwest from the "City of Brotherly Love".

His first experience, like many magicians, was when he saw one perform at a friends birthday party. Having gotten the obligatory magic kits as a child, he would practice the tricks and perform them for his family. The difference from many of us is that Michael was too young to read and he learned by having his sisters read and teach him the tricks. His first "paid" performance was at the seasoned age of five for his cousins birthday party.

Once hooked, the magic bug never left and he continued performing in the Philadelphia area while making many trips to the Philadelphia Magic Company to check out the latest things.



He left Pennsylvania to attend the University of Maryland, College Park. where he graduated with a BS degree in Agronomy. Aside from being a professional magician, Michael also followed another passion of his in golf. He gained his membership into the PGA of America and regularly teaches both people new to the game as well as professionals. Something that he has in common with his magic career as he continues to lecture for groups of magicians.

In the late 80's and early 90's Michael worked at Barry's Magic Shop in Wheaton, MD. It was there that Michael really had the ability to rub shoulders with some of magic's elite, honing his skills and working for some of the top companies in the DC area. And the owner of the shop, Barry Taylor, was there to help and give Michael the proper push and guidence when needed.

In 1994 Michael released his first book on close up magic Next Victim, Please... which was published by Hades Publications in Canada. In 1996 he followed up this work with Miracle Material that was published by L&L Publishing. Michael has also published several smaller works and effects (for magicians mostly) available through him directly at his lectures.

Since that time, Michael continues to be creative, and he has many new things in the works that I'm sure you will want to ask him about. He has published effects in pretty much all the trade publications and collaborated with other professionals on their own works as well.

In 2005 he graced the cover of MUM magazine as the feature and since that time the magic community has heard little from Michael aside from seeing him at a convention or two. The bottom line is he has been busy creating new material that is soon to be released, as well as working on new performing arenas outside from his normal venues. Michael's company, CorporateMagic-FX, has been busy with a steady flow of clients since the early 90's.

Most recently, Michael has his new touring one man show that opened in November. The title of the show is IMAGINE....An Evening of Conjuring, Mind Reading and Mirth!
