You don't need my permission to post here. Obviously.
I'm just trying to give you the validation you seek with a warm, cosy, grandmotherly pat on the head. Would you like a Werthers?

Stop reading my posts. You obviously don't have enough IO to understand them. And please stop your bullying and harassing.

For myself, I'm thrilled to have the credit history posted here on the Café.
With so many complaints about its usefulness when somebody comes along with real (and I would say important information) I say, "hooray" I appreciate that people feel protective of their friends and heroes but I think Colin, more than anyone, would appreciate somebody noticing the work of one of his mentors within his own! I may be writing out of turn but I understand that Colin and Paolo communicated and collaborated often… last I heard there was even the rumour of them co-writing a book. (fingers crossed) We're all sitting in the middle of this beautiful interconnected web of thinking, it's a cause to support and celebrate-- or maybe it's just spring fever taking hold. hug it out! d

And ironically enough, when I went to my library to check both Sigma and Divine, the two books were right next to each other. ;-)

The kids are not great with crediting these days... Even worse, they reinvent stuff all the time and think they were the first to think of it! (I haven't read a truly original method in ages.)
It's all getting jumbled up anyway, so much material flying around. Nobody can keep track of who created what when. Crediting is no longer the relatively easy task it once was! |

Both Paolo and I created this independently of each other. I'm sure everyone knows how highly I think of him and his work.
I have footage of me performing this is shows from a LONG time ago. That being said, I believe Rune Klan was the first to play with the concept? However, anyone who has work on Equivoke had probably thought of some variation of it. Paolo and I have found our own ways to steamline it. My real additions to it are in the presentations ... The boxes on stage and the glass in the bag. I feel those are the really important bits. In closing, Paolo's work is amazing... So buy it all! Have a nice day lovely people. But crediting is very important. So if we're going to do so, let's be accurate ... Rune Klan.

Colin should be very careful not to reinvent Bascom Jones MAGICK stuff.... (ehm, ehm Colin)
Why? Because I do day after day, hour after hour and want to be the only one doing that... Of course, do you realize this is a pipe dream?... Each time each of us who has the luck to have that encyclopedic collection grabs any issue of it and read it... he´s statistically bound to find something he or others came up thinking it was totally new!
Then you'll rise right before my eyes, on wings that fill the sky, like a phoenix rising!

I enjoy learning more about the history of our art. I'd much rather Seethings shed light on the history of effects, than have people publishing books with poor crediting. Reinventing the wheel doesn't help the art grow.

Honestly, I don't perform any effects from the lecture exactly as presented, but I still regard it one of the best lectures because some of the thoughts and methods have sparked some ideas that I've developed into other routines. When I first saw the lecture, I thought I wasn't gonna use much. Yet later, trying to figure out how to achieve a particular effect I created, I found myself thinking "I could use that method from Colin McLeod's lecture"... and those moments happened more often than I could've imagined. A lot of my tricks now have influences from that one lecture. love it!

Any alternative for the K pad? It seems to be out of stock everywhere I've looked.

Maybe someone could convince Colin to come lecture at Tannen's Magic in NYC. That would be great.

Let me chime in with my 2c. I have watched Colin's lecture maybe thrice, so far and I can say it is fun and great learning.

I just saw Colin perform with the Illusionists. It was incredible to see him perform some of the tricks he taught in the lecture for such a large audience and get such incredible reactions. It was insane. When you watch it on video you think its a cool idea, but watching him do it live makes you realize how cool it really is.
