Received this book recently as a gift from the director Jim Sharman. Not owning the original edition, I wasn’t aware until now that the one in my possession was any different! Having recovered from the shock, it remains a gorgeous volume with fascinating essay material, and a tremendous visual record of our art. It dwarfs my copies of Robert-Houdin, Al Baker, and even (in height though not in page count) the Taschen book on Kubrick’s 'Napoleon' (no mean feat!). Still gratefully wading my way through it…
