Hi, please help me with a little question.
I have a S&S (copper/silver) set from Lassen and the coins are as follow: Walking Liberty(soft) and English penny (Victoria). There are two b... r.... and gimmicks - WL and EP - plus matching coins, 1 WL and 3 EP. I know I can use this for several copper/silver routines but I wonder, as there are two gimmicks, is this set made for a specific routine? Thank you for your help. Torstein |

Samoya?

Samoya won't work with coins that need a b... r...
From my own experience, sounds like you got a comprehensive S$S set!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Yes, I misinterpreted the obscured words.

Try the Roth coins across and use the c/s gaff to permit the odd coin to travel

Jonathan, can you explain what you mean? How would you use an odd coin in the Roth coins across?

This has to be a little bit cryptic as we are on an open thread. Just follow along as if doing the Winged Silver from his book or lecture notes.
Display the c/s as a regular ( you show four silvers and a copper or four coppers and a silver - up to you - keeping the surplus in CP as per routine) IE show the one odd coin openly among the ordinaries- then table it. "handle" the c/s as coin 2 of the routine - getting it into position in your hand for an appearance (but you will show it on the other side in a moment) Pick up "by accident" the odd coin from the table along with what you have been picking up (and putting down each time a coin travels). Show the gaff odd side up. Use the Shuttle Pass to ring in the innocent coin. Proceed to make the last coin(or coins) travel as usual. Feel free to play up the transits and use a [ to manage a vanish on occasion per Roth's other coins across.

Somehow this next bit got lost in a post deletion.
This approach also works with a c/s/b gaff. Also, since the audience is focused on the receiving hand it makes sense to use a ] gaff to manage a coin vanish as in Roth's other coins across. May as well use the gaffs if you have them.

Thanks for the explanation, I'm going to have to try to follow it when I have my coins in my hand later today

Welcome, the idea is to use the c/s aspect of the item for all it's worth and then the ] to its greatest effect for a vanish later on. It's okay to have a few more coins than you use for a routine.
