Paraphrasing the announcement of Dad's website: The new OMNIPAD is a direct ripoff of Dad's Nematode. As you may recall, this is the same chap who, a couple of years ago, marketed inferior knockoffs of Dad's proprietary Brown Hornet Technology. When Dad spoke to him then, he was apologetic and claimed he had taken his products off the market. As it turns out, he didn't, but the word was out so Dad let it go. Once could be coincidence--twice is deliberate piracy.

Sheesh, you'd think he'd try to rip off someone else - to do it again on your dad may indicate not only is he a pirate but a dopey one too

Typical of those who cant think for themselves, the same thing happens with routines.
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

Is it possiable that this person not have created this concept independently , as many have the same idea?
I was informed by someone a PRO / Very knowledgeable mentalist that sooner /later all Props/products will be copied by China. What exactly is the dad site . This is disheartening to say the least , Exactly how does one protect a prop such as a note pad , or illusion prop ? |

How is the notion that China will rip off all props/products something that is uniquely within the knowledge of a "PRO/Very knowledgeable mentalist." I thought everyone knew that. The OP's dad is John Riggs. And finally, unless one chooses to make the secret to devices/illusions, etc. publicly accessible by patenting them, no real protection exists. All we can do is appeal to ethics. |
