Hey everyone I am curious, what is the best magic convention you have been too and why? Also what would you like to see at a magic convention, could be anything, activities and such. Lastly who are some people you would like to see at a magic convention that you don't typically see at the standard conventions? I would love to her your answers and thoughts! Looking forward to your replys!

Make that three. Abbott's Get-Together all the way. Pure Michigan.

Abbott's as well. Because I enjoy George Schindlers Vent O Rama and its a nice change dressing to keep cool rather than dressing to be cool.

Thanks everyone! I have always heard AMAZING things about Abbott's! I have really really wanted to go! What makes Abbott's different then most conventions?

Tough to put into words, below is a link to a story written by Mac King about a typical Abbott Get Together
http://www.magicgettogether.com/story2/1998.html In my opinion its the memories - Hot summer days, barbecues, fireworks, craft festivals, the graveyard with all the magicians buried in it, the stage shows with their history, the creaky floors at Abbotts, rotary phones, the half price book sale, walking down the street and seeing street performers, trying to find a cold beer and a hint of AC, that strange looking building with the big clock which is actually a museum with magic exhibits, silly shirts, midnight campfires in the woods, the kingdom of BJ Mallen, rainbows and thunderstorms, the school mascot, the clown before the show starts, seeing old friends you only see once a year. Summer in Michigan is too precious. After one full day at this event you will say to yourself "consider this day seized". |

I'll put my vote in for Kutztown, Pa. convention. It is a one day convention that gets great talent & is very affordable. Two lectures, close up show, auction, all you can eat dinner, and evening show. That one is my favorite, but I think they all are good. Nothing beats seeing old friends & meeting new ones. So, my advice, attend any convention you can.

The Kutztown, PA. one day magic convention is absolutely the best one day bang for your buck in magic. There isn't even a close second. They only book big acts, there is a morning auction, two lecturers, a close up show, an evening show, and an all you can eat dinner all for one low price.

Huge value, great location, diverse lineup of talent. Happens in mid-January which is off peak season for most working professionals. Magic at the Beach, Myrtle Beach, SC, USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
