I was wondering if anyone can explain this effect? Is it worth buying the manuscript or the gimmick? Thanks, Jim

This is my humble opinion; not worth it.
Sorry, for those of you that love this routine Humbly Kuffs P.S. I hope this is the same idea I think it is. A card prediction using jumbo card and the.... That help you create this illusion. The creator is Gary Ouellet |

Except for a laugh, leave Portent alone. The "idea" was wonderful, but the execution was unworkable for most performers.
Just as a heads-up... If there are enough people interested, I *may* release my variation of Portent called "Foreseen" in a very limited (<10 or so) edition. The effect is nearly the same as Portent, but without the incredibly convoluted methodology. Foreseen is a complete, powerful, funny, and commercial routine perfect for the working magician wanting to add a some killer mental magic to their show, or for the mentalist who wants a light-hearted (yet very strong) prediction card effect. I have used this as a closer for my magic act for years, but since my character has changed as has the show type, I have regrettably removed this routine from service. Because of this I may let it go, but will only do so in an exclusive manner. I will post at a later date if I decide to part with it. Best in Mind, Michael |

There certainly was! I received a good number of PM's. I am now finished with the manuscript. Foreseen is available in the classifieds section of the Café. MS |

I don't know how it works, but there is a descreption in Practical Mental Magic that is similar to Portent from audience's viewpoint. Annemann used two slates instead of cards. You can find it onpage 99. I suspect that Portent has such a simple idea, too.
