I finally came across a deck that has me stumped. I recently acquired it with no instructions and it is intriquing enough for me to hope I can ID it.
There are 52 cards plus 2 extras, one a shimmed thick joker and the other a blank with a question mark drawn on the face in marker. These are regular Rider Back Bicycle cards. When the cards are placed in suit order (A-K, K-A) the alphabet that is drawn of the backs of the cards is also ordered. To make a 52 card "alphabet" deck there are obviously duplicate letters. There are 2-3 blue Bikes with nothing drawn on. Also the extra cards I mentioned previously have quotation marks drawn on in marker. Anyone care to hazard a guess? Does anyone now for sure what the deck is called or how it is used? |

Possibly the deck from the marketed version of Paul Harris's Anything Deck.

Thank you Paul. I researched using your link as a jumping off point and it seems that this is more likely the cousin to the Anything Deck, called Deep Astonishment. Now if I could get instructions for that one I might have something. It is my understanding that Deep Astonishment uses a wallet which some have reproduced using a leather wallet because they didn't like the one provided with the effect. If anyone can bear to part with a copy of instructions for Deep Astonishment it would be tremendously helpful. Thank you again Paul for providing the cues that seem to have solved the mystery.

That explains the mutilated wallet and "lettered" cards in my junk drawer! If I can find the directions I'll make ya a PDF.
I don't remember the effect at all... |

Thank you very much Doctor Amazo, you are a lifesaver if you find them. If not, at least you know what you have now . Take care, Craig
