It says "The package includes the gimmick bottle opener and instructions"....$120
Demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Qgipz6J......be&t=20s Who uses a bottle opener? OK...so you cleverly worked it into the act.....why not just bend a real spoon? Or...better yet, get Rasmus's REAL Coin Bend and mess with their minds. But a $120 to bend a bottle opener? Pass. |

I have several bottle openers that are used regularly (ish) there Re very few twist to open bottles of that sort in the UK.
I suspect that to many people a bending bottle opener is more impressive than a spoon because they are supposed to withstand more pressure than a spoon. I'm not in the market for any self bending metal at the moment but I can see that if it is similar to shift et al it would be pretty effective.

Can't say it looks than much like a normal bottle opener
Funny how Alakazam are promoting this as the 2nd coming only 2 weeks ago Peter was saying how great Shift Self Bending Key was! Or maybe it because it's an extra £25 compared to Shift |

Professorwho, thanks for posting. I find that people actually think spoon bending is difficult ( because they have never actually bent a spoon;-) I'm not sure they think bottle openers are any tougher.
When I do stage work ( clam down, it's just silly open mic night stuff ) I do a Johnny Ace Palmer routine where I produce an opener and a bottle: http://youtu.be/Gga6J8EXJf4?t=33s But I would never consider spending $120 to bend the opener. If I wanted, I'd just 'soften" a regular $1 opener. Anyone that has this, it would be great to hear from you. |

I'm not sure you can make such a sweeping statement, the following google image search shows lots of variation in bottle openers including some that look like the item in question: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=metal+......&bih=672

For what it is worth I think that if you really want to bend bottle openers you would be better off with a whole load of cheap plain metal bottle openers and something like Bionik.

Zombie, I suppose I think that about spoons because I have bent so many trying to get ice cream out of a pot before letting it thaw!

Hi Jackmagic, you obviously haven't read the bit where I say I'm not interested.
Having said that I have seen that sort of bottle opener used in the UK, in France and in Italy mind you, and there are several in that image search when I do it that are almost identical to the gimmick up thread.

It is normal for people to have coin's in pockets or a Key
I don't know anyone that carries a bottle opener with them , plus this is more expensive than the other items from a magic co that No One know's anything about , can't see why everyone is getting so excited about this ! |

They taste better to me so I always grab a couple when I see them. That's the only reason I carry a bottle opener but it was less than $1 & I don't use it in any performances |

Yes, but can it open a bottle?
I thought it was going to be something which allowed you to "psychically" open a bottle. I would much rather buy something like that.

I actually quite like this, I'd like to see one in real life before placing my order, but I could definitely get a use out of it if the quality is OK.
Imagine a routine that involves this and Morgan's Corona bottle - I think it could be the basis of a strong and natural feeling bending act in cabaret clubs, comedy clubs; i.e places where bottle openers are common and spoons are not. I'm all good with no one else buying it though, I'll just be the only one on the circuit doing it! DC

Practicality aside, this would be great if combined with Peter Loughran's Bottle Twister effect.

I just purchased one, hopefully it looks as it does in the trailer...but I'm worried on how durable it is, because I am a bartender, and bending silverware at your workplace can become an expense for the establishment.

Ok, I now have to opener. It's not sturdy enough to bartend with, but the effect is good. While it came with no instructions, the maintenance section tipped me off on how the gimmick works. I got it for cheap and I must say that it's a pretty cool gimmick. It works just like it does in the video and you can hand it out for examination AFTER.
