You don't like calamari by your own admission, but you have frozen vegan calamari in your freezer and it, again, by your own admission, is tough and stringy......but you will smother it with tomato sauce. Why do you continue to punish yourself with ersatz calamari? The "real thing" is as tender as you can get lightly sauteed, but it has to be fresh, not frozen. Frozen will be rubbery and stringy, and as a Noo Yawka, you must know that, but geeze, give the fresh stuff a chance, hey? Unless you are a vegan without desire for animal protein, in which case I would ask, why is vegan calamari important in the first place? Just sayin' and not being argumentative, just curious, that's all.

I'm presently a pesco-vegetarian, but for whatever reason, I generally limit my seafood to shrimp. The same company makes a pretty good frozen vegan fish fillet so I thought I'd try the counterfeit calamari. It was a bad mistake. I guess in the days when I was eating the real stuff, I must have run across calamari that wasn't so great. If I ever return to eating it, I'll take your suggestion and try fresh.

Bod1dog, HEY! What is up? Haven't seen you around much. I think it might be best to take that chill pill that's been sitting in that corner, and all will be good with NOTS.
(Sometimes I wish the threads here worked by votes, like reddit, so the good stuff is at the top-and we never even see the bad stuff..)
