Is there a catagory for magic that can't be experienced in person. I am thinking of film and video magic. I have seen what amounts to magic effects which could only be accomplished by editing or special effects. A spectator could never experience the effect in person, only video or film. Included in this catagory might even be effects in which the spectator must stand in a particular place. Examples of these "position" effects are some sidewalk art and 17th century "peep" show boxes. However, I'm mostly thinking of videos like the one I recently saw involving an "Escher type" stairwell. I am interested if anyone else thinks these are magic effects, but need a way to seperate them from traditional magic effects.
