Yes Ed, thanks. I know what you're talking about having recently settled my deceased mother's estate. The estate has a total value determined by all contents and assets. There's no way though that I'm going to calculate any kind of gains or losses because for most of the stuff I have, there's no way I'd remember what I paid for it. For me magic is a hobby, not a business. Thanks again! best, bob
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

I'm storing mine in the middle just to be safe.

I have a young mentor. He is actually 10 years my junior, however he is a great kid, and my brother in law. Unbeknownst to him, whenever I go he will receive every bit of it. I know that it will be put to use and will be cherished.

As it stands currently (which will change a few years down the road), everything I own is formally willed to a single person I trust to distribute things as I want them done (I did it that way because I keep changing my mind about who should have what, and I don't want to formalize a new will on every whim). I maintain a document for this person which outlines what my wishes are. As of now, the bulk of my stuff goes to one person. Three items (or groups of items) have special treatment. A particular gimmick goes to someone I've fooled with it about a million times, and my realistic-looking fake dog poop goes to a particular magic creator whose work could only benefit from the addition of it. The books stay with the rest of my library, which goes, in its entirety, to someone I know will appreciate my book collection almost as much as I do.
