As a side note:
Neil Foster worked for a short time for the Ireland Magic Co. in Chicago, Ill, which is not called the Magic Inc. at a new address from the original in Chicago, Ill. While working at Ireland's, Neil Foster released 2 items through their company, that I know of. One was 3 billiard balls balancing on the end of a magic wand, and the other was interesting box table; where the hinged doors on the top, opened and created a place for props with sliding panels to hold the props in the door lids. Neil also told me that each of those bouquets were 50 flowers each. He later created a different handling involving a switch. |

Ray, I ran into the same problem with other brands as well. The joint at the seam is a little loose and comes apart. I did a cheap fix that works great.
Take the half of the ball with the inner flange (usually the side with the hole) and put 2 to 4 little dimples (pointing out) evenly spaced using a small punch. Do this carefully since the aluminum bends easily. The dimples create enough force to keep the ball together. If this isn't clear PM me.

Bought my first Zombie Ball ( Mr.Magic) and was amazed to find the "cork" was really hardwood and that it was smaller than the ball opening, with a steeper taper. No WAY could it have ever held the ball! Plus the foulard was only good for use as a nice place mat, as the ball was visible right through it.
Yeah, I know, ya get what ya' pay for. Ah well, I like a challenge... Made a balsa wood "cork" with 4 degrees taper per side and it works great now. The search for an opaque foulard is the next step. Owens or Viking...next stop. I really liked the advice that just because you CAN do something, you SHOULD do it! |

People don't really know what they are looking at and that seems to add to the mystery. I know how I felt the first time I saw one- it was like that metal man from Terminator 2. What is that silver thing... I like to start off by making the foulard float...introduce and play with the zombie, then let him vanish. The flowers wouldnt fit what I try and have the audience perceive the effect to be. |

Although I have not seen it in person I,along with jcrabtree2007, do like the looks of the FAB Ball the Dream Zombie. Kind of curious if anyone on here owns one?

The thing I hate abotu Zombie balls is if you drop them once on a hard surface, you're SOL... I've owned 2 and I promised 'never again' lol

I've had my "good"zombie since about 1982 or 83 and just a couple of weeks ago it got its first dent. A very small one that I was able to press right out of it. They're really not hard to take good care of if you're simply consciously aware of what you're working with.
