Hi all,
a couple of months ago I met (via another forum) this wonderful mentalist because we were doing the same kind of research about book tests: I had been very surprised to read his latest ebook about the subject!

In this pdf you can find:

The Test Conditions Book Test: an impromptu paperback book test in which a spectator reads your mind and then you proceed to read his! Very clever!

The Prophesy Principle: a really interesting principle that let you perform a book test in any working situation.

Inferno Book Test: a very innovative method to perform the Bold Book Test by David Hoy. With this book test you can entertain the audience for about 10 / 15 minutes.

What´s on TV?: oh, this is my favourite. It's a very interesting principle that let you divine a tv show choosed at random from a TV guide by the spectator using a borrowed watch.

Challenge Book Test: a very clever method to perform a book test when a spectator says “Ok I have a book, what word am I thinking of?”. It reminds me of Chan Canasta and although is very bold I think it's a very good approach to the problem.

If you are interested you can find "Book 'Em All" on this website: http://www.artbookemall.blogspot.co.at/

I took the opportunity to preview this ebook because I really don't like book tests. That being said, I went into this biased. A few things caught my eye and I think they are worth the price of admission.

The Prophecy Principle: This allows you to give a spectator the choice of any word on the page while limiting their selection to only a few. - This is genius.

What's On TV? - This is a nice example of pushing the envelope on book tests and seeing what else you can do with it.

Those are the two that smacked me over the head. The one that hit hardest was The Prophecy Principle. Pure Gold.
by EVILDAN....
"The Coin Board Book" - moves and routines with the coin panel board. - http://www.lybrary.com/the-coin-board-book-p-827955.html
"SLASHER - A Horror Whodunnit" - a bizarre close-up routine based on Bob Neale's "Sole Survivor."
PM me for more info.
"Zombie Town" - a packet effect about how a small town turned into zombies. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nzJhcoJtyOM

I've just had a read through of this and will probably post some full thoughts soon but I had to post about how genius I feel one effect in particular is.

What's On TV - Worth the price of admission alone. So very, very clever. Gives you scope to reveal a lot more than just a word but feelings, themes and more. Perhaps even getting a name reveal from "someone in the show". And it's all impromptu. Clever combination of some well known principles.

I can only echo what the others above me have said also. Very cool indeed.

Chris.

Thanks Chris!

Just to clarify that I have been advised by Pete Turner that The Prophecy Principle is NOT original to myself. Whilst it is a case of independent creation, Andrew Gerard has previously developed work on this principle but did not publish it. Andrew has VERY kindly allowed for the principle to stay in the book and he gets FULL credit for the idea.

Glad everyone is getting a lot of use out of the effects and principles within the pages! Smile

Cheers,
Art
