I suppose it doesn't have to be ingenious to be effective but still, I think I was expecting something more interesting. What I got was something I don't think I'll ever do. And like me, I suspect many will not like its requirements. At the end of the day, though, you get what you pay for. |

Depends on how you mean "link"ed. If you mean linked as the ring was linked onto the rubber band (of Hostile), then keep looking. If you mean linked as in a Crazy Man's Handcuffs start-up, than an effect as you described is in the dvd "Link!". Link! is a very good compilation of many variations of CMH. John

In one of the first sentences in the explanation of hostile Ben reveals that it can be only done to one two or maybe three people.
It's angle sensitive. Not sure this is stressed in the ad copy? Acar I'm not impressed. Had I known this - I would not have bought it. |

Hi folks, I had to write a massive research paper.
Yes, I am off my rocker, particularly since I don't have one. What some of you didn't notice is that I have already made the effect angle proof. The basic of this is on secret sessions. In a week, I will come up with a free upgrade with detailed instructions on using the angle proof method to do two penetrations, building in effect (thenks to writeall) and then on several ways to easily end clean. If you don't like this trick, then you probably like to play in front of a mirror. This is for workers. It is angle proof for me and I will be sharing it. I like real magic, the stuff that makes them faint. I just did a Harbottle vanish last night. Someone almost had to be carried away. just like the Raven but no sleeves, no gimmicks. Hey, have a great weekend everyone. Please, don't buy Hostile. It is magic. Buy a rubber band puzzle with 100 moves instead. But seriously, enjoy the magic you like and fool some people, best to all of you, scott |

Vampiro -
Honestly I think whatever it is that you're doing is pretty reprehensible. If you're able to make the trick so different it's angle proof than that's great but that means it's no longer THIS trick. This is what you posted on the Penguin review site: "THIS TRICK ROCKS. WHETHER ON SPECIAL OR FOR 10 BUCKS, THIS IS ALWAYS ON SALE. IT SHOULD BE SOLD FOR 40 BUCKS or more." It's ridiculous. No body who actually performs for real life people in real life situations can perform this trick. This isn't a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact and I defy anyone to film themselves performing for people at a bar and do this trick. It's one of the most impractical trick I've seen in a very long time. It's good for a YouTube affect and one person..that's it. Whatever agenda you have for hyping up this trick is very transparent and frankly unethical. |

Not only in paid gigs, but also for friends and strangers on the street. That said, I really think this can be done in the real world without a problem. You just have to adjust the group accordingly and perform it for the person/people on your left. I know I will certainly at least TRY this in the real world before I come on here and state that it can't be done. I just have to go out and buy something before I can try it. |

This thread is comparing Melting Point and Hostile a lot. Not sure why. However, I have both and like both. Melting point is a lot more involved, but it is really quite spectacular. It does take a little practice, but that's what separates real magic from the hordes. I like that it takes a little practice, because then it will only be performed by those who put in a bit of practice. If you want to hand out linked bands, just come up with a way to switch out the bands. I personally put a pair of linked bands on my wrist, so a few effects with separate bands, put them on my wrist and then "take them off again for one last effect" after switching them. I pretend to link the bands by biting one and showing them linked. I then have the spectator put out their finger and place the linked bands on their finger. As for Hostile, if you have the hostile band in your right hand, you can use your left hand to make it much more angle proof. I also carry this one on my wrist and switch it out. If you are looking for another cool rubber band effect, try Stargazer by JB Magic.
Thumbs up to Hostile. KJ |
