Was about to go out on the street and perform the other day and noticed the cards were a bit sluggish. Added some fanning powder. Not really that much, a little on the side and a faro and same to the other side. I walked out front of the shop into the humidity. 3 flourishes later my hands were gooey and the cards were toast. I can only guess that talc in the fanning powder immediately soaked up the moisture in the air (making them pastey). Has anyone had this happen? Is it crappy fanning powder of just life? also....What unexpected elemental oddities have you had and what did you do to resolve them?

Having done outside gigs in Charleston cards just won't last for more than a short while outside with this humidity. Fanning powders can't do much to remedy it. Going through a few decks an hour was the norm for me.
