Here is my review:
The gimmick itself is not new. It's not the most common of gimmicks, but it's not new. However, I was really impressed with the quality of the gimmick. Upon initial inspection, I couldn't tell that it was gimmicked. I wouldn't hesitate to put it in the hands of a participant if done in a controlled way, for example, placing it on the back of their hand as part of a routine. If you watch the video on the website, I would think that you could ask a participant to extend their hand palm down and use the back of their hand as a "table" for a portion of the routine with the bill. This would be a very good convincer. The big thing for me is I have paid more for just the gimmick elsewhere and this comes with a very good quality gimmick, AND a DVD. The DVD is very short and to the point, the routine and explanation. You can see the routine on the website in the link above. I think the routine is very good and the instruction is also very good. I think you can tell from the routine that if this were performed for real spectators, it would be very entertaining the way he presents it. Obviously, there are limitless ways of presenting a routine with the gimmick. So, for a pretty reasonable price, I was happy to get something of very high quality with a pretty good routine for me to build on. KJ. |

They demo'd this for me when I visited Daytona Magic a couple of years ago. I remember being very impressed with the look of the edge of the "coin".
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Jconstantine,
Hi. I do have a few Johnny Wong coins that are very similar. Since I have nothing to do with either producer, I won't comment on "who owns what rights". However, I will say that the quality of both Johnny Wong's coins and this coin are excellent. As far as the DVD instruction, I find Wong's DVDs to be more challenging to learn the routines. Wong's takes more practice than Harry's. I like them both. But, I believe they are both very impressive and Harry's is easier to do. KJ |

I went back and took another look at my Johnny Wong coins. What I realized is that the Johnny Wong coins that I have come in a set of four coins while the Harry Allen set is two coins. However, the Harry Allen coins stand up to much closer scrutiny. I wouldn't hand out the Johnny Wong coins or even have them examined at a close distance. However, I would do so with the Harry Allen coins using the right participant management.
