Hi there,
I'm thinking of purchasing an Executive Production Briefcase in the near future but I thought I'd put this question to you before I actually went and purchased one. I was just wondering if I were to produce a basketball or some other large object, would it go over kid's heads? I'd be performing for kids no older than 10. Do you think most kids would have the common knowledge that something so large couldn't possibly fit in the case? Hope you can help, thanks. Mike J Rogers

Virtually all children age 4 and up will be surprised by the effect, as long as they've seen a real briefcase before. Some 3 year olds will be surprised too, if you can get their attention when you do it! But the entertainment factor of a good presentation won’t be reliable until they’re 5! How’s that for a confusing answer?
Children learn that large objects don’t generally fit into small spaces well before age 2. However, before age 3, everything is new to them, so everything surprises them, or perhaps it is more correct to say that nothing surprises them because everything is new. After age 4, the effect will surprise them as long as you have their attention when you open the case and take out the ball. There are other issues with performing magic for children under age 5. You can entertain some 4-year-old children with magic, but a lot depends on the circumstances of the venue, especially how many children are present and how many distractions there are. And of course different children mature at different rates, so these are generalizations that apply to most children.
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.
