There was a time a while back (say in the late 90s, early 00s) when kids were unaware of what a turntable was, or how one worked. I think that reversed with the growing popularity of EDM and also with the rise of celebrity djs over the last decade or so. Though this may have taken longer to catch on in the U.S., than it did in Europe. (Similarly, while turntables seemed to be off the market and almost unobtainable some time back, now you can actually find them for sale again in stereo stores and even on Amazon.)

I remember when our family doctor made house calls and only charged $4 for an office visit. Now is that old, or what?
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Yikes, what about getting silver coins in change growing up when the coins were worth their face value?
For you youngsters, and as an aside, the US nickel is still a bargain at a nickel, while the melt value is just shy of a five cents, it's higher in value in proportion to the rest of the coinage that has been minted since 1965. And the melt value of copper pennies is twice the value of a penny today, since 1982 when they became mostly zinc. You can still catch copper pennies in change today. Check the post 1982 zinc melt values. Does that tell you anything? I'll wager that the nickel will be changed in content before long. Buy 'em and hoard 'em while you can. The melt value of a 2013 presidential dollar is five cents, a little more than the melt value of a real nickel. http://www.coinflation.com/

it was less than 3 years ago. He thinks I'm crazy when I tell him vinyl sounds better. |

Seriously, I only know the song because my father was a BIG country-western fan (back when it was still called "Country-Western") and Hank Williams was a particular favorite. I have been so burned out on old-school country-western. Sorry about the rant.
