Hello. I have a booking with a cosmetics company just before Christmas. I'm looking to adapt OOTW for the cabaret platform, and present it with a "natural senses" theme, rather than ESP. I may have someone 'sniff the jumbos', or perhaps feel them for softness, and tie this in with perfumes or skin moisturiser products.
I am wondering if anyone has any good ideas for how I may best present the effect according to such a theme. All ideas gratefully received. |

Aqualung,
Have you checked out Bruce Bernstein's Separation Anxiety? He has some great ideas for presentations other than cards and for corporate presentations. Best, Vlad |

Perhaps you could have them deal the cards onto your back and after the final reveal, reach back and hand them some Gold Bond Extra Medicated. Then ask them if they can smell the jasmine.
I notice your last 8 posts have been ointment based. Sounds like youve found a niche market. |

Have a look at Genetics by Sean Goodman

There is a standup ootw effect. Its pretty good. A Spanish performer sells it.

If you are selling A specific brand of cosmetics you can have the spectator do OOTW with a few different brands on the cards and in the end the spectator separates your cosmetic brand from all the others proving your brand stands out from the rest.?

Aqualung, my friend (sorry, Jethro Tull fan here)...
On a very similar note to what Billman has already suggested (he beat me to it!), when I read your original post I thought right away that perhaps you could announce that you treated, say, the red cards in your deck with your client's unmistakably superior moisturizer, while the black cards have been left untreated (or else merely treated with a competitor's presumably inferior product). The fact that your spectator successfully separates the reds from the blacks would thus constitute concrete evidence of the detectably (even unmistakably) superior difference that your client's moisturizing product makes, even in a "blind" comparison test.
For a supernatural chiller mixing magic (prestidigitation, legerdemain) with Magic (occultism, mysticism), check out my novel MAGIC: AN OCCULT THRILLER at http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thriller-Reed-Hall/dp/1453874836

I'm not too sure about that Karnak. Perhaps the person dealing would be mystified but the rest of the audience would just think the cards felt different.

The magician can hold the cards and go around to different audience members asking what pile the card should go on. The group doesn't actually have to touch the cards. Also another way to perform OOTW that involves multiple spectators is to have 4 or so mini stacks set up in the same manner as a full deck would have. Just have the 4 spectators put cards on one of two piles and your outcome will be the same.
