Jimmy Page being the last of the true living legends, still going strong, who recognises the roots of what he is doing...

jack white is the intense upstart, eager to learn from his elders but to twist it into something else - yet does he fully understand the true intent of the blues?

The Edge, the magician, leaning on effects and technicalities, and over-looking the emotion and the connection?

This is a great show. Especially when Jimmy breaks into classic Zeppelin and the other two realize Jimmy is the true master. The looks on their faces is priceless.

You realize then that even the greats have greats.

Led Zeppelin certainly remind me of many modern mentalism creators.

Making money and gaining fame and respect by reproducing the work of others, often ripping off a previous work wholesale and sticking a different name on it, then selling it back to people who have no true knowledge of the roots of the art form.

Fantastic musicians mind you. Love John Bonham!

Its true though... especially the first album...what most people don't mention, is the phrasing of whole lotta love, is a direct lift from Small Faces' version of "you need lovin'"...

here's an example...

Just watched them. far out! Explicit and undeniable. Still love LZ though and now I will definitely check out the artists they ripped off on their road to awesomeness as well!

Check out "Taurus" by the band Spirit. I believe Zeppelin toured with them. Looks like Jimmy was listening backstage!

Jimmy Page is my favourite guitarist of all time Smile

Martin is very much right, they borrowed a hell of a lot.

Jimmy played on a mass amount of records in the sixties an unbelievable amount!

I love them, the song remains the same is one of my favourite videos.

Don't get me wrong, Page is a god on the guitar. They were just a little naughty in their borrowings.

To be fair, one of my heroes John Lennon was not immune to a little riff thievery!
