I have seen a performance of an effect where the performer has a helium balloon on a string. He breaks the string into lots of little pieces and rolls them into a ball. He puts the ball onto the remaining small string and lets it go and the whole string is restored and examinable.
Does anybody know what this effect is called? I hope I explained it well Thankyou |

You will love it! works well, string is a bit tough to break in the old version, but when you learn a small trick to it,,, it goes well. but for those that are afraid of the small pain,,, tony as come out with new string that is easier to break,,, I have not tried it yet, watch out for string to easy to break,,, especially if you give the balloon away as a gift,,, use the old thread and learn the simple adjustment to breaking the thread,,, the new thread I would be afraid would break with the child ,,, and there goes hs balloon.... it is a strong effect and works well in our show,, I say go for it...

If you use the U.S. Post Office method to break string, it will be easy to break string. When you have to bundle hundreds of letters a day, it is kind of tough on your fingers, unless you use a good method.

I still love watching the video of Tony Clark performing this effect. The music is perfect and it looks like a total miracle. Just love the effect.

When I was doing the thread, I "stripped" a strand from some type of yarn I picked up from a walmart or something. Strong enough to use as a balloon string without worry, but easy enough to break without slicing the everloving ####### out of your hands. Only downside, it didn't "stick" the greatest when the torn pieces were balled up... but I imagine a quick pass with some wax would fix that quite easily.
