Sorry for my not perfect english. I like magic tricks (I've many at home) and I've fun with friends and sometimes with my patients (I'm a general practitioner and dermatologist as job). I'm mainly interested in mentalism and close up.
A question: I would like tu build a small Sefalalija with a cigar box, and I'll probably post this in the right section. I would like to know a good method to fix the ball to the "gimmick", but I know we cannot reveal our small tricks and secrets. How can I ask a question like this, without revealing the mechanism behind the Sefalalija? (Ok it's not a big secret, and it was published in Jinx Magazine in 1939... Anyway I'm new and I don't want to cause problems!) ;-) Thank you for your help. |

I'm very happy: I've ordered a Hobbs Box now, and I hope to receive it soon! For my type of close up magic "shows" (sometimes bizzarre, sometimes comic) I think it's the right prop for many strange effects...

Welcome Markus,
This is the area to introduce yourself, which you have done nicely. I think "The Workshop" forum in the "Special Interest" section could help yo with your question. If you do a search of Sefalalija on google, several Magic Café sources will pop up. You might check those out as well. Good Luck! -Mary Mowder |

Thanks Mary! But my problem is: how can we write about tricks, without let our "secrets" revealed? If I, for instance, should write about invisible threads oder about magnets... all people would understand how a magic prop is made... That is my problem: in fact I've learned how many tricks are made by reading forum discussions...

After you make 50 real posts in the Magic fora (not in "Our New Arrivals" or "Not Very Magical, Still" and not "I agree" type posts) you will have access to "The Banquet Room" section and "Secret Sessions" in particular.
You can also exchange information in P.M.s (Private Messages). If you click on a persons avatar you will see orange letters saying "Send a Private Message". -Mary Mowder |
